Inqilab-e-Islami Pakistan announces merger of a group and launches attacks in South Waziristan

On 8 August 2025, the militant group Harakat-e-Inqilab-e-Islami Pakistan (IIP) publicly announced the merger of a militant group, Khalid bin Waleed Group, operating from the Azam Warsak area of Wana, South Waziristan. The video also announced the launch of IIP’s operational network in the Wana region.
The 2:15-minute Urdu video is the second episode of the "Jihadi Markay" (Jihadi battles) was produced by Sada-e-Haq Media. It was disseminated via IIP’s official channels on social platforms including X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp, and Telegram on 8 August 2025.
The video includes surveillance-style footage depicting an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on the vehicle of a local police officer, identified as Usman, in Wana. While the specific date of the attack is not disclosed, its inclusion alongside IED-making preparations suggests the incident is recent.
IIP emerged in March 2025 and formally allied with Lashkar-e-Islam and the Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction in April 2025 to form a new umbrella organization, Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen (IMP, Union of Mujahideen). Sada-e-Haq functions as IMP’s official media platform, regularly disseminating propaganda content and statements of responsibility for the group’s operations.
The released video is structured in three segments:
1. The opening portion features an audio address by Ghazi Shahabuddin, the leader of IIP. The message, directed at the general populace of Pakistan, calls for support of IIP’s armed campaign against state security forces and encourages recruitment.
2. The second segment documents the pledge of allegiance (bay’ah) by members of the Khalid bin Waleed Group. In the video, nine armed individuals with covered faces are seen formally joining IIP. The ceremony takes place in a verdant, mountainous area. All participants wear a uniform of black shalwar kameez and red headscarves—consistent with attire featured in previous IIP official videos, suggesting an established dress code within the organization.
3. Another segment depicts four militants in a mud-walled structure engaged in the assembly of explosive devices. This is followed by footage showing the detonation of an IED targeting the aforementioned police vehicle in Azam Warsak.
